Junior High Ambassador

Elsa Chen

Elsa Chen is currently a seventh-grade student at BASIS International School Hangzhou in China.

 

Outside the classroom, Elsa is passionate about Latin and history, with a particular interest in the classical world. She is equally committed to developing her public speaking and writing abilities.

 

Having earned several regional public speaking awards and a Gold Medal in the Spring 2026 cycle of the Harvard International Review Academic Writing Contest, Elsa is more motivated than ever to strengthen both crafts and become a more effective advocate for marginalized communities.

Elizabeth Sim

Elizabeth Sim is currently a senior at Milton Academy in Milton, Massachusetts, USA.

Wishing to bring greater attention to gender inequality and to silenced narratives, Elizabeth is passionate about drawing on her creative and academic skills to advocate for marginalized communities.

 

Elizabeth serves as Editor-in-Chief of Magus Mabus, Milton’s art and literary magazine, and as Club Head of Milton’s Amnesty International chapter. Beyond her school involvements, she has conducted research on the defecting experiences of North Korean women.

Aaron Sun

Aaron Sun is currently a freshman at Westtown School in West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA.

Passionate about self-expression within limiting circumstances, Aaron has dedicated himself to creating platforms for dialogue, creativity, and cultural understanding.

 

Aaron served as Secretary of the Student Council at Qingdao Amerasia International School and the Video Editor for the Orange Knowledge Hmong Cultural Heritage Movement.

 

Aaron is also the  founder of a small-group Original Oratory program that taught English-speaking and public-speaking skills to children ages 6–9 through personalized summer classes.

Primary School Ambassador

Rose Sun

Rose is a fifth-grade student at BASIS International School Hangzhou with a strong interest in visual art and its capacity to address youth safety. 

 

Through illustrated “brave little stories,” courage cards, and a developing school-library booklet, she encourages children, particularly girls, to recognize bullying, express difficult emotions, and seek support from trusted adults. 

Rose hopes to expand this initiative by teaching other children to communicate through art and eventually creating a community mural centered on dignity, safety, and empowerment.

Isabel Tao

Isabel Tao is a sixth-grade student at Olive Tree International Academy in Hangzhou, China.

Isabel is passionate about public speaking and uses her voice to advocate for under-resourced women and marginalized communities.

Having earned recognition in multiple speech competitions, Isabel continues to refine her communication skills and deepen her commitment to advocacy.

Driven by the same core mission that fuels her public speaking, Isabel aspires to become a judge like Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Whether at a podium today or in a courtroom in the future, Isabel is dedicated to being a powerful changemaker who speaks up for women and defends the marginalized.

Jaynean Xie

Jaynean Xie is currently a fourth-grade student at Hangzhou International School in Hangzhou, China.

In her free time, Jaynean is a dedicated advocate for under-resourced children and marginalized communities, working to raise awareness and support those whose voices are often overlooked.

​​

Jaynean is also an enthusiastic public speaker who actively participates in speech competitions, and she is excited about participating in more tournaments this year.

Mary Xu

Mary is currently a junior at BASIS International School Shenzhen in Shenzhen, China.

A passionate advocate for women’s rights and gender equality, Mary actively raises awareness of women’s issues within her school community and beyond.

Mary also serves as a member of her school’s Student Council,  the Art Director of the school publication Aurea Chronica, and the Historian of the International Thespian Troupe.

Mia Xu

Mia is currently a junior at Milton Academy in Milton, Massachusetts, USA.

Passionate about gender equity advocacy, Mia serves on the editorial board of The F-word (Milton Academy’s feminist magazine), the leadership board of Students Advocating for Gender Equality (SAGE), and the school’s Community Engagement board.​​

In her free time, Mia researches how gender intersects with a variety of other social issues, such as burnout and media representations of homelessness, aiming to understand how different gendered experiences lead to inadequate responses that deepen social disparities.
